locked out

I thought I would share another update on where things are at with Maplebrook.

The Easter weekend fell on the same week as ANZAC day this year so there wasn't much going on over the last week with so many public holidays. I think everyone deserved a bit of a break 😀 Even we got a way for a few days which was very much needed.

We are pretty much at lock up with the house now out of bounds as work progresses inside. The tiler is due tomorrow to start work on the bathrooms and tiled areas and the landscaper will also be in to commence work on the footings for our retaining wall. The week before easter was the stair railings finished and the doorway/wall on the underside of the stairs installed - this had to be made a little narrower.  The Alfresco doors have also been installed and they totally change the look and feel of the downstairs dining and living areas.

Our Alfresco doors. So glad we went with the postless variety, with the doors opening both ways from the centre opening up to a large corner opening.

The doors still need to be properly secured, hence the timber support

Our under-stair storage, with a slightly narrower doorway. The wall will sit flush with the edge of the stairs. The room will open up as you walk in from the hallway.
We spent some time looking around our neighbours house late last week. Jess and David are building behind us, but off to one side. They too are hoping to take advantage of the escarpment views from their massive living area.

Can't wait for those fences to go in! 😋

Poor neighbours moving piles of dirt by hand.

The block next to this house will be a double storey home.I don't think it will impact much.

Sigh!
More to come soon!
