rough-in trades, finished.

"Rough-In Trades" - a term I had not heard until today.  Rough-In trades refer to the stage of construction after the basic framing is completed and the mechanical wiring, plumbing and HVAC installations are finished... but before walls and ceilings are Gyprocked. HVAC refers to heating, cooling and ventilation.  It's amazing what you can learn from a 5 minute conversation with your Site Supervisor.

Anyhow, this is where we are at. Our rough-in trades have finished and our house kinda looks like...well, a house!

Over the last week or so we have seen the renderers finish the rendering and the colour has ben applied. Taubmans "Grey Wolf" was our colour of choice and we think we are pretty happy with it.  Half of our scaffolding has come down with the sides and rear of the house essentially scaffold free now. This allowed the roofers to return yesterday to finalise the missing part of the roof above our Alfresco and our Dining Room. Having this completed means we now have a full roof. YAY!

Tubs of Rockcote. Render in a bucket!

Grey Wolf!
The missing roof has been installed now that the scaffold is gone.

Looks pretty!

Taken today,

Today when I drove past on  the way to work there was a guy cleaning our bricks and looking at them this afternoon they came up a treat. Really, really happy with our brick choice after all of the kerfuffle a few weeks ago.

Tomorrow the renderers will be back to fix up a few patches that were missed and our Gyprock is set to arrive on Monday next week. Our SS says that all internal walls and ceilings will be lined by the end of next week and then stairs will be set to arrive shortly after. This will be an exciting time as we have been promised a tour of upstairs and we can finally capture some photos from our balcony. Cannot wait for that!

Grey Wolf. Cannot be fully appreciated until the scaffold is gone.

The photo doesn't do it justice but Grey Wolf looks pretty good against our cleaned bricks. The bricks were not cleaned when I took this shot :)

More to follow soon....
