the final countdown...

We're now in July and the build is ALMOST finished!

Photo taken this afternoon. Some scaffold goes up again next week so the team can finish the balcony and front patio.

We haven't accessed the house much (*cough*...honestly! 😝) over the last 6 or so weeks, There have been days where the house has been a flurry of activity with multiple trades on site doing their bit to bring the house to life. Other days the house has laid dormant with not a soul around. I guess this was going to happen as soon as it was just inside work that needed to be done. We're not the only Mincove Home being built after all.

The painters moved in pretty quickly and I managed to sneak in one day during this process to see Brendan, our SS, about something or another and capture a few shots of the progress. I hadn't given it much thought before but was surprised to see the painters sprayed the paint onto the ceiling. It really does make sense to do it this way as it would save a lot of time. They pretty much had this done in two days.

All windows were covered

Doors were removed from each room and sprayed also. Notice holes in the ceiling ready for downlights.

Blackbutt and Steel railing, just like the stairs.

Covered our blackout handrails. Good, good!

Literally a day or so later I popped in for something else and the walls were done. The entire house looked and felt different. Amazing!

The camera doesn't do the colour of the walls justice. It's a light colour but really lifted the room but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called.

Upstairs :)
Once the painting was finished there was some further work done with tiling of our wet areas, installation of toilet, vanities showers etc however it wasn't until I started this blog entry, that I realised I don't have any photos of the bathrooms. I'll post some up once the bathrooms are complete.

Flooring has been a real focus over the last week or so, along with the kitchen install pretty much coming to a head. Waterfall edges were added as soon as the flooring was complete in this area and the installation of the appliances began today, along with our pendant lights. The WIP has come along in leaps and bounds and the microwave was today placed in its new home.

The flooring looks AMAZING!!

Swish Aqua Stop in Blackbutt. Beautiful!

White on white kitchen.

The stairs were all finished today, getting the full Blackbutt treatment.  They came up really, really well and we can't be more pleased with the finished product.

Tape in place whilst the adhesive dries

Looking good!

Today was also the day that the pendant light for the front window/entry/void was installed. We imagined this would be quite fiddly for our electrician but he got it up and hanging with minimal fuss. We think this looks amazing too!

Can't wait to see what these are like at night :)

The front door was finished off today. The timber surround was added. Looks neat!

And finally last week saw the team from Apollo Blinds come in to do the final measure for our blinds and shutters for the entire house. 17 Shutters, 3 large roller blinds and two outdoor "Ziptracks" for the Alfresco. I cannot wait for these to be installed....

If you are local and need blinds or shutters - Apollo Blinds! Service has been phenomenal so far.

And to wrap this up it's so exciting to realise that we are literally 3 or 4 weeks away from having our dream home finished. There will be a couple more blog updates to see this time out and I am planning on shooting a "guided tour" video once we get our keys.

Stay tuned!!
