It's almost May and....

...we're still not registered!

We have now been CV residents for 19 weeks which is quite amazing because it feels a LOT longer. I guess that's a good thing as our rental really does feel like home now, even though it isn't ours.  The Valley is still a quiet place and the other residents I have met all seem to be nice, decent people which is great. Hopefully as the area grows so too does the local community vibe of the estate.

I went for a quick stroll a short while ago to capture a few more images of our block and surrounding area, which I will share at the bottom of this post.. We still don't have access to the block although we have been told that the asbestos removal has been completed.  At time of writing our registration is set for June, a month later to what we were initially told post clean up. Not sure why the extra months delay has occurred but it is what it is and whatever date it is will have to do.  The real bummer is that our MOJO tender also expires in June so here we are again..... price rises, negotiation and a LOT of thinking.

To be honest, we are really questioning whether the MOJO build is worth the money they are asking. The increases in building cost is really stretching the budget and we are thinking that maybe there are other options out there for a double storey home. Whilst this is frustrating (we have come so far with our MOJO plans, colours and options!) the mere thought of starting again is a little daunting however if there is money to be saved or a nicer home to be built then maybe a little pain is worth it...right? Watch this space and we will see what the universe throws our way ;)

As for those pics...here you go:

Things are slowly taking shape in the Valley

An EPA sensor checking for airborne Asbestos near our hill.  :(

The Oaks Release (our hill) post ACM removal. The green stuff we are told is liquid grass seed and fertiliser which was sprayed on a week or so ago. Must be close to being done!

More green seed spray on the larger split blocks. They're steep!

Asbestos signs are still up.

Looking up Brotheridge Ave. Our block is the block below the green electricity box in the centre of the frame.

Looking down Escarpment Drive towards the escarpment

Trees have been planted all through The Oaks release.

  1. We share your frustration. This surely is a huge exercise in patience. We, like you and Shell, have run out of tender too. Many decisions to be made. Hang in there Timmy, you’re right, it’s worth a bit more pain right now to get the house just right and within budget.
The photos look great. It’s shaping up so nicely up on the hill. I love love love your Street trees. Hang in there guys. Will all be worth it in the end 😊
