oops!

Hi All.

It's been a little while between blogs mainly because there hasn't been a great deal going on.

Currently we are waiting for our colour consult with Mac Jones but this is still going to be some time away. We have spent lots of time deliberating over colour choices, particularly for the exterior of our new home. We both have the same in mind when it comes to our Colourbond roof but from there we are still in two minds about how other things will tie in - the gutters, garage door, fascia, window frames etc etc.  We think we have decided but I will save that for another post closer to the time as it will no doubt change a few more times.

We have also heard rumblings that the registration of our block may be delayed. Stage 1 is well underway and seems to be moving along quite nicely but we're pretty sure they are a bit behind. Our initial timeframe for registration was "early" 2017 which could mean different things to different people. We took it as Feb/March' ish which seemed about right.  Well today we headed into the Calderwood Sales Office where the girls indicated June/July would be more realistic. This isn't really a big deal although we would like to understand what that means for our agreed build price and are hoping that it means we can still be in our new house for Christmas.  It is a waiting game.

Whilst in the office we looked over the updated maps and development plan for the Estate.  Turns out we were wrong with the approximate location of our block. Seems 2357 is further up the hill than what we initially thought. We will probably have a much nicer view from our front door and the Master suite but we may have a different view out the back.  The decision was made that we had to head out to Calderwood to try and make sense of the new maps in relation to the new fences that have gone up to mark out Stage 2.

2537 is Green!

So this afternoon we went on little expedition to try and get up the ridge line near to where our block would be. Using the current properties that are going to remain (marked in purple) as our markers, as well as the large Private Property block, we were able to narrow down the area in which we think our block will be located .

Here is a Google Map showing the approximate location. The red is close to the actual, the yellow is roughly where we thought we were meant to be looking.

We managed to get up there and take some photos.
