The Final Cut

At the time of writing this blog, the block is now ready to be slabbed. A lot has happened since Thursday and the stress levels have peaked ever so slightly over the weekend.

The excavators started prepping the block on Thursday afternoon which was really exciting. By lunchtime Friday however the reality of what this meant hit home - a hit of about 120 tonnes!

The Mound!  120 tonnes of dirt and rock that had to be shifted before the cutting could be finished.
The cut at the back of the block. Gonna have to rethink my backyard plan
Oh yea! Fences are up too!

You see, we are responsible for the cost of removing the excess fill. Doesn't sound too hard but when your trying to work to a time frame and there is a substantial cost involved it all becomes little bit stressful.

Today however we had it all removed and the tradies were able to finish the cutting of what will become Maplebrook.
